Scrub and rinse for mildew, chalk and dirt. Diluted bleach and soap solution applied.***

B. Lap Siding and Trim-Style Homes

Soap, scrub and rinse for mildew and dirt. In some instances stronger mildicides are used to prevent regrowth or reccurrence. ***

Drying time: five days to two weeks.*

 

C. Cedar and Shake Siding

Remove, label and rinse shutters.** (This service is not included in the basic powerwash. There is an extra charge for this service—to be discussed at the time of powerwashing estimate.)
Apply proper mildicide and bleach solution to remove mildew. ***

Strip film with powerwasher.

Drying time: five to seven days*

 

D. Tudor Board, Tongue and Groove Siding

Drying time: Remove, label and rinse shutters.** (This service is not included in the basic powerwash. There is an extra charge for this service—to be discussed at the time of powerwashing estimate.)

Apply solution application for removal of paraffin wax, aquatrol, or previous sealer. ***

Drying time: seven days to two weeks.*

 

E. Windows

Accurate Powerwashing routinely cleans all exterior glass as a courtesy service—to reduce any potential hard water spots or streaking from residual dripping—leaving you with clean windows as well as a clean home. We take every precaution to reduce hard water spots, but some cases may not remove water spots completely, if hard water is severe. Separate charges may be needed to meet your standard. Windows that need to be rid of all water spots might result in these extra charges and will be charged by the hour.

Windows are cleaned for surface dirt and soap splatter. Anything beyond that such as old paint splatter, etc.must be discussed before powerwash begins.

All exterior glass must be accessible or omitted and must be pro-rated if separate window cleaning services are elected at the time of estimate.

All screens must be removed before or at the time of the powerwash by homeowner unless contracted otherwise.

 

NOTE OF RESPONSIBILITY: Homeowners are solely responsible to report windows that leak before powerwash begins. Accurate Powerwashing assumes no responsibility for windows left open during powerwash and any damage incurred or damage resulting from leaky pipes or broken faucets, although we have not experienced this as a problem.

* All drying times are basic reference points depending on landscaping, time of year and weather. Drying times do increase towards fall.

* *Shutters area removed, numbered, rinsed and stored at customer’s convenience, if there is painting to be done behind them or contracted otherwise.

*** All solutions used are safe for plants and animals and are biodegradable.

Despite conflicting opinions about powerwashing, it allows the best surface-to-surface adhesion for painting. Painting over dirty surfaces is the prime factor in what is called Intercoat Peeling. Intercoat Peeling results from an application of a paint or film forming product that improperly bonds to the surface that it is applied to as a result of that surface not being clean.
